BRUTAL MURDERERS AND VIOLENT CHILD RAPISTS LIVE FREE UNDER EVERS

Eric Toney blasts Tony Evers for his soft-on-crime policies and for prioritizing heinous criminals over victims.
FOND DU LAC, Wis. – In 2018, Governor Evers ran on reducing the state’s prison population by half. Instead, we’ve seen homicides, violent crime, car thefts and drug overdoses skyrocket throughout the state of Wisconsin. He’s pardoned more people than any previous governor, and his Parole Commission has released some of the most brutal murderers and violent child rapists in Wisconsin’s history.

Further, Tony Evers couldn’t meet with Milwaukee crime victims due to his “busy schedule,” he’s suggested eliminating felony bail jumping, and he appointed John Tate – a proponent of repealing truth-in-sentencing laws – to chair his Parole Commission.

According to Wisconsin Right Now, of the hundreds of murderers and attempted murderers released by the Evers administration:

  • One is a man who shot, killed, and decapitated his wife.
  • Another is a man who killed his mother, stepfather, and 8-year-old half-sister as they slept. That man, a triple-murderer, now lives free at the age of 56.

Of the dozens of child rapists released by the Evers administration:

  • One is a man who sexually assaulted a 4-5 year-old-girl multiple times over 4-5 years. That man was convicted and sentenced in 2015 to 18 years in prison. The Evers administration has already granted him parole.

And on multiple occasions, the Evers administration failed to notify victims’ family members of release dates.

Fond du Lac District Attorney and law enforcement’s choice for Attorney General, Eric Toney, released the following statement:

“Tony Evers has failed Wisconsin and crime victims by siding with criminals over communities, and ignoring victims and their families. I could not more strongly condemn the actions of Tony Evers and John Tate for putting heinous criminals back on the streets with little to no regard for crime victims. Wisconsin is far less safe as a result of their liberal agenda of releasing murderers and rapists. Tony Evers and Josh Kaul have consistently shown crime victims are not a priority for them. We cannot afford another four years of this intentional disregard for public safety.”
District Attorney Eric Toney is endorsed by over 100 Sheriffs, District Attorneys, and Police Chiefs, and has been unanimously endorsed by the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge, the Milwaukee Police Association, the Racine Police Association, and the Milwaukee Police Supervisors Organization.
